Hi all, just a quick update I've had second thoughts about the tail on my Alpine (not happy with tape holding the elevator on) so I've cut it off rudder as well and used simple plastic hinges glued in so all is now well

Well maiden flight now accomplished (thanks Alan Harris) she flies really well but be careful of tip stalling at low speed apart from that no really bad manors, looking forward to the comp now

Well as some of you know mine flew OK on Sunday. None of these nasty surprises you warned about. Quite enjoyable despite the overcast weather.

Regarding the no mod's rule I see this as applying to us using the stock motor/prop/battery set up. Hinging the tail / elevator to prevent the flex distortion when operating the rudder is, I think, this is more of a safety issue. Any comments?

I think I would be in complete agreement with you Keith, a safety issue indeed  😉 seeing as I am the one who has hinged the tail lol  🤣 and yes we had a very pleasant day Sunday albeit a little damp under foot

My Flys fine even with the amount of movement on the elevator when rudder applied but strangly didn't  seem to effect it in the air at all .When in the glide i can let go of the sticks and it stayed level going in the wind direction fine and landing havn't had any tip stall issue yet .

Hi David,

Yep mine flies like a dream no issues, it was Alan who had the nose up under power and tip stall problem but like I said no issues with mine (so far lol)
